20 Nov Caring for the Furniture
There is nothing quite like the high quality that you find in custom, handcrafted furniture. When making such an investment in a piece of handmade custom furniture, you want to be sure to show it the love it deserves. By doing so, this will prolong its appearance and the longevity of its luster and texture.
CLEANING: If your custom reclaimed piece needs a little cleaning, wipe it down with a damp wet cloth and some mild soap. Make sure you completely dry the table when you are done. Additionally, products with chemicals should not be used to avoid destroying the varnish.
HEAT: Use hot pads when serving meals in hot dishes. It is best to avoid placing furniture too close to heat sources such as heat vents, fireplaces and radiators.
WATER DAMAGES: Always use a dry cloth to follow up after wiping down the table surface. Any spills should be soaked up and dried immediately. For best results, use coasters for beverages to prevent discolored ring on the surface of the wood.
Taking these simple precautions to care for your custom made furniture will help preserve the table and keep it in the best condition for years to come.
